Our desire is to foster an environment where our student-athletes not only have a great football experience, but also earn degrees and grow into their professional lives. The Hawkeye Legacy app from NextPlay provides an exceptional platform for networking, mentorship, and program connectivity.

One thing that we’ve always prided ourselves on at St. John’s is the willingness and desire of alumni to stay connected to the program in so many different ways. NextPlay allows us to take our efforts to a whole new level and identify new ways for Johnnies of all generations to connect with each other and with our program.

I love the Beyond Sparta App because not only does it allow us as student-athletes to stay engaged, it gives us very useful information such as things that are going on around campus or game times for other sports all in one place. Since I’ve joined Beyond Sparta one of my favorite things to do on this app is post pictures of me and my teammates when we’re out supporting other sports on campus!!

I love the Hawkeye Legacy App and so does my dad, who is a fellow Legacy Hawk. It’s an incredible way to stay connected and involved with the program that is so close to our hearts! I love trivia each week and seeing the locker room set up. The app makes me feel like I’m back on campus.

NextPlay is revolutionizing student-athlete development. Their career development support and engagement with alumni mentors has changed how our athletes view their futures. What truly sets them apart is their personal level of service, especially throughout the COVID pandemic. They have been true partners for us and our student-athletes since 2019.

Alumni would jump at the chance to be helpful to a younger member of the team, and this platform allows us to do just that. We can see a player’s interest and figure out how to help them. The unique, exclusive access to the program is also appealing as a former player.

I love the Hawkeye Legacy app! It is great to be able to connect with alumni and share info about the current happenings in the program. It is very user friendly and self-explanatory, so alumni of all ages will be able to enjoy it.

As athletes, our strengths- iron will, supreme confidence, and can’t-fail attitude – can often be our stanches enemies when we transition from sport. We are used to taking control through countless hours of training and repetition. For most athletes, we do not harness the same discipline and energy when it comes to preparing for the inevitable end of our careers. While transition hits you hard soon after you exit the locker room for the last time, there are habits and skills that can be honed, just like any jump shot or backhand, that will ease the anxiety of the new post-sports journey. It’s essential that, as an athlete, you devote time and energy to this endeavor through programs like NextPlay.
