NextPlay, a trusted provider of comprehensive career success programs for collegiate athletes, is excited to launch a beta version of their interactive software platform. The software tool will be made available for download free of charge in early April, and will remain free to use through at least the beginning of July. Any school or athlete interested in using the free tool to navigate career development and alumni engagement during the COVID-19 crisis can sign up for the beta by visiting nextplay.me/software.
The primary purpose of this tool is to ensure that athletes can access athlete-specific career development content on-demand. The app features a wide variety of content created by athletes for athletes including videos, articles, and podcasts. Each school will receive a white-label branded version of the app, which they can use to assign tasks to individuals or groups, track engagement, and involve alumni as mentors and content contributors.
“We are excited to offer athletes a new way to engage with career development content that works with their schedules, particularly during this moment in time when everything is virtual,” says Kyle Mumma, CEO of NextPlay. “We are particularly excited because all of our career development content is customized for athletes, taking into account the specific skills, challenges, and experiences that make athletes unique.”
“The content itself is just part of the equation,” adds VP of Services Mia Wise. “We’re really excited to provide a new avenue for alumni to stay engaged with their alma mater. For young alumni, this might mean using the platform to continue navigating their own career journey. For more experienced alumni, there will be opportunities to create customized content and share their expertise with current student-athletes.”
In addition to original NextPlay content created in partnership with athletes around the world, the app will utilize carefully curated career development content from various trusted sources and partners. Some other notable features of the free beta version include:
Individual profiles for athletes and alumni
Virtual event/meeting scheduling
Task assignment for individual athletes or groups
Metrics on task completion and engagement
NextPlay customer support
